Trailerhead: Awesome Trailer Music from Immediate
Having just posted an article on the music in Star Trek XI and feeling somewhat depressed that music by ‘Two steps from hell’ is unavailable to the general public, I felt compelled to post another article about trailer music that is available to the general public.
If you aren’t already aware, one of the most popular sources of trailer music comes from the Emmy awarding recording artist Immediate. Immediate have been composing scores for trailers for more than 15 years and are probably considered the best in the business, if not one of.
Immediate’s music is a combination of electronic, full 100 piece orchestra and a 70 member choir. Their music has been showcased in trailers for so many films its ridiculous, including Spider Man 3, The Island, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Incredible Hulk, Harry Potter 5, Hellboy 2 and more.
The best thing is 15 of their best tracks are available on an album titled Trailerhead, and you can grab it from Amazon (and download the mp3 format immediately if you want). Check it out:

You should also check out E.S. Posthumous who do theatrical trailer style music. Their music has been featured in over 30 film trailers.

Yes, absolutely! I was going to include some links to their site in the Trailerhead article but thought I might leave that til later. Now that you’ve brought it up, Unearthed is a particular favorite of mine, one that I never tire of. Pomeii is a big favorite, used in many trailers. For those that haven’t heard ES Postumous, here’s some mp3 clips from Unearthed:
Also visit the links above, you can hear full tracks on their website too!
