‘Transformers 3′ Release Date Confirmed

In March of this year Paramount announced that Transformers 3 would be released on July 1, 2011.  The next day Transformers director Michael Bay publicly announced there was no way he could be involved with the movie if it was to be released any time prior to 2012.

Clearly “no way” really means “some way” since Bay has now announced not only that the release of Transformers 3 will occur exactly on the date Paramount originally announced, but that he has also already started working on the film.

Further, he couldn’t help but make his announcement without continuing his war of words with Megan Fox:

From Michael Bay.com:

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Let’s face it, love her or hate her, Megan Fox is a major Transformers drawcard.  I can’t help but wonder what damage to the franchise would occur if she called Bay out on his comment and determined that Transformers 3 wasn’t right for her…

Yup…that’s about how I feel when I watch a Bay flick. Just turn it over to Speilberg completely and make him put the Dinobots and Insecticons in it. Plus some nametags, yeah. Definitely need some nametags on the ‘bots and ‘cons.
