Ultradome Aims To Settle The Important Questions

Who would win in a fight: Gandalf or Darth Vader? Or what about Han Solo versus Aragorn? Get ready to find out, well, at least from the perspective of a new scripted online series titled Ultradome.
Ultradome aims to answer exactly these types of hypothetical debates using scripted stories and special effects to bring the battles to life. The project comes from Agility Studio’s and Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia’s DiVide Pictures. Ventimiglia will co-produce and also appear in the series.
“My whole life has been spent engaged with friends in intellectual debate … like whether Captain Kirk is tougher than Spock or if Middle Earth is a more difficult place to live than Tatooine,” Ventimiglia said. “With Ultradome, we can bring these debates to the public and settle them in the most logical way possible: through armed combat.”
The concept will be similar to Spike TV’s Deadliest Warrior which plays out hypothetical battles between ancient warriors – although Ultradome won’t be as serious as Deadliest Warrior. Instead, Ultradome will be played for laughs and will show fans fighting instead of re-creating the iconic characters themselves.
Ventimiglia said he and partner Russ Cundiff came up with the idea after putting a couple of mock lightsaber battles online and envisioning how Luke Skywalker would slice and dice Mr. Spock.
The first episode is scheduled to go live in the US Summer, and will pit Star Wars against Lord of the Rings. Ventimiglia is backing Lord of the Rings, but apparently only because his co-star pleaded to be on the side of Star Wars.
Already sounds hilarious.
