Writers Hired to Pen ‘Hancock 2′
It’s just five days since director Peter Berg informed the world that Columbia Pictures were keen to fast track a sequel to Hancock.
He certainly wasn’t joking because today Columbia announced they’ve hired scribes Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara to write it.
Fierro’s writing credits include an episode of Dexter and a number of episodes of The Shield. Mazzara also contributed writing to The Shield and wrote a number of episodes of the Crash TV series.
It’s too early to talk about plot synopsis, although Berg has previously suggested it will involve a third immortal god.
Berg also suggested last week that both he and Will Smith were “pretty busy” on other projects, however Columbia’s announcement adds that Fierro and Mazzara will work with Smith and director Peter Berg to build on the world hinted at in the first movie.

In the original film, Will Smith starred as John Hancock, a superhero who we later learn is actually an immortal god. Charlize Theron starred as Mary Embrey who it turns out is also an immortal god and happens to be Hancock’s centuries old wife. They are both immortal gods but when they come into close proximity of each other, their powers wane as if they are each others kryptonite.
