‘X-Files’ Star Gillian Anderson To Appear In ‘Doctor Who’?
Gillian Anderson may play 'The Rani' in Doctor Who
Gillian Anderson, aka Scully in the X-Files, may appear in an upcoming Doctor Who story with the new Doctor, Matt Smith.
According to a report by the UK Telegraph, the producers of Doctor Who are keen for Anderson to appear as the renegade Time Lady ‘The Rani’, a scientific genius and dangerous enemy of the Doctor.
The Rani has previously been played by UK actress Kate O’Mara.

An insider told the Daily Express newspaper: “Gillian obviously has a massive sci-fi following and it’s felt that it would be a major coup to have her appear in Doctor Who.
“The team behind the show are keen for the next Doctor to have lots of new enemies and Gillian would be a glamorous and impressive addition to the list.
“The Rani would be a perfect role for her as the character used to be regarded as one of the Doctor’s most deadly opponents.”

The Rani wasn’t ever seriously considered as a deadly opponent. Ever. She was a rubbish attempt at a lady Master. Hopefully, Moffat will be able to breathe some really cool new life into the character.
Bigger hope is that this means that we’ll finally be done with this Last of the Time Lords crap. They’re Lord of Time, how exactly do you kill them then?

She was one of my fantasy picks for The Rani on a forum about a year ago, so this possibility of one of excitement.
Will it happen, though? Who knows – although I recall Moffat saying that he was more in the market of creating new memories rather than revisiting old ones.

OMG OMG OMG.
Please let this be true. GA is a Goddess. My all time favorite episode of X-Files is the story in the 7th Season that she wrote and directed. God I hope this is true

I had an exciting dream featuring Gillian Anderson yesterday and I can only think this rumour is the cause.
