The script for the first Stargate Atlantis movie has been completed and co-writer/executive producer Joseph Mallozzi has confirmed the official working title: Stargate: Extinction.

“It’s the working title,” Mallozzi says, “but I kind of like it because a) it’s story appropriate, b) a dynamic title, and most importantly c) not ‘Dark Gambit.’”

The storyline remains under wraps, although it is said to follow on from the events depicted in the final Stargate Atlantis episode. It has been written by Mallozzi and Paul Mullie who both worked on the final two years of the series.  Both are expected to also produce the film.

No announcement has been made regarding when the new movie will commence filming and as yet no cast members have been contacted.

Stargate Extinction will be released on DVD by MGM after it airs on SCI FI Channel in the US.

I am a great fan of stargate SG-1 & Stargate Atlantis I also love the feature films, BUT!! Stargate Universe does nothing for me, It put me to sleep on 3 occasions It`s so boring, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Bring back SG1-1 & Atlantis They where both brilliant. I have watched each episode of each one more than five times, Stargate Universe once was enough. I think there are probably thousands of fans out there who agree with me. Yours Hoping.

I hope they have Shepperd/Todd pairing or Shepperd/Teyla. I want to see the lead hero get paired with someone and have him be with them.
