‘Caprica’s’ Final Five Episodes Will Be Aired On January 4, 2011

Ever since Syfy cancelled Caprica, the prequel to the Battlestar Galactica, there have been speculations as for where and when it would be possible to watch the remaining five unaired episodes of the show. One of the ways for some of them has become to go illegal and try to get the show from the torrent websites. Syfy Delays Airing ‘Battlestar Galactica: The Plan’

Last time I wrote about Battlestar Galactica: The Plan word was Syfy were intending to air the movie in November.  Apparently that’s not the case as Syfy are now intending to air it sometime in 2010.

In other words, the only way to see The Plan between now and an undisclosed date next year is to buy it on DVD or Blu-ray, which I’m guessing is Syfy’s underlying purpose behind the delay.

‘Battlestar Galactica’ Symphonic Concert Event

If you live in Los Angeles then this one is for you.  On October 24th, the Golden State Pops Orchestra will be hosting a special symphonic concert to pay tribute to original Battlestar Galactica composer Stu Phillips to commemorate his 80th birthday. The event will be performed by a full orchestra and will take place on only one night.

Stu Phillips will be in attendance to conduct his scores to Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers and Star Trek.

Also, the event will host the premiere of John Ottman’s suite from the new film Astro Boy – arranged and conducted by GSPO’s assistant conductor, Jason Livesay.

Bear McCreary scores the pilot to Fox's 'Human Target'

Bear McCreary has announced he is working on two upcoming “must have” soundtrack releases.

The first is the score to Capcom’s sci-fi video game Dark Void, which will be released by Sumthing Else in 3-6 months time. The second is a new Battlestar Galactica soundtrack that will combine the scores of the BSG movie Razor and the soon to be released BSG movie The Plan.
