Brandon Routh Joins the Cast of ‘Chuck’

Brandon Routh as Superman

Brandon Routh, aka Superman in Superman Returns, has been cast in a multi-episode arc commencing from episode four of the upcoming third season of Chuck.

Routh will play Shaw, a spy who takes control as the new leader of Operation Bartwoski.  His character will become a mentor to Chuck and a rival in his affections for Sarah.

I must admit I’ve never been able to get into Chuck.  But I liked Routh in Superman and this casting news will certainly prompt me to try the series again when it returns, whenever that will be (March 2010?).
