John Cho (Sulu in Star Trek) also stars in 'Flash Forward'
In an announcement that is of no surprise, ABC have officially ordered a full series of their new sci-fi drama Flash Forward.
Flash Forward is based on Robert J. Sawyer’s sci-fi novel Flash. It follows the story of many different characters from all over the world as they deal with witnessing a 2-minute and 17-second slice of the future. It will delve into many philosophical ideas, including duality, choice, destiny and the notion of free will.
The pilot has a great cast that includes Joseph Fiennes (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas / Running with Scissors), Sonya Walger (Lost / Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), John Cho (Star Trek XI / Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay), Christine Woods (The Madness of Jane / Atlanta), Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean / The Bunker) and Courtney B. Vance (Space Cowboys / Dangerous Minds). It remains unclear how many of the cast from the pilot will also appear in the full series.

ABC have not confirmed air dates, however it is speculated the pilot will premire in the 3rd quarter of 2009.
Flash Forward 'flashes' during Lost
During last week’s episode 100th episode of Lost the ABC began their elaborate marketing campaign to promote the upcoming sci-fi series Flash Forward. If you missed it, they flashed a series of images alongside the question ‘What did you see?” You can watch the promo below:
Coinciding with the ‘flashes’, ABC also launched a viral marketing website cryptically titled The Mosaic Collective. The website offers very little other than the ability to provide your answers to the question (so what did you see?). Obviously this is something that will develop as time goes on (by participating in the website now you’ll get updates emailed to you).
With Brannon Braga (Star Trek Enterprise / 24 / Star Trek Voyager ) and David S. Goyer (Batman Begins / The Dark Knight / Jumper ) behind the project – and possibly with Goyer directing the pilot – there’s a lot of interest brewing over Flash Forward.

Brannon Braga (Star Trek Enterprise / 24 / Star Trek Voyager ) has confirmed the ABC network have picked up the pilot to his new sci-fi series, Flash Forward.
Flash Forward will follow the story of many different characters from all over the world as they deal with witnessing a 2-minute and 17-second slice of the future. It will delve into many philosophical idea, including duality, choice, destiny and the notion of free will.
“One of the cool things about the show is you have 5 billion potential storylines. And we plan to tell the stories of people all over the world,” said Braga in an interview with Sci Fi Wire.
Each season will open with a flash forward into the future whilst the remaining episodes of the season deal with the unfolding consequences as the story eventually moves to and passes over the actual event. Throughout the season some characters will work to ensure their vision of the future occurs, others will want to change it.
