In order to celebrate the upcoming release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Moviefone has announced a contest aimed at finding the biggest Harry Potter fan. The fans from all over the United States have been contributing their videos trying to prove they are most obsessed fans of Rowling’s wizard boy, boasting with their books collections (sometimes in the languages they cannot even understand), multiple T-shirts, etc. However, there is a guy who claims to be Harry Potter Himself, and he is certainly something else, with his three rooms crammed with Harry Potter collectibles, different Harry Potter clothes to wear ever day for three months, a J.K. Rowling autograph tattooed on his forearm, and a complete obsession with all HP stuff. He has read each book for more than hundred times. He calls this video the proof that he is ”absolutely, completely, and utterly OBSESSED with all things Potter”, and that he is not only the biggest fan in America, but also the biggest fan in the world. It’s really hard to object after one watches his video – so you are welcome to click and enjoy!.. Read the rest of this entry »

Director David Yates has confirmed roughly 85% of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 has been shot and roughly 10% of Part 2.
Yates also confirmed that both Deathly Hallows movies will be very different than any of the preceding Harry Potter films, including the soon to be released sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
“The first [Deathly Hallows] movie is a road movie basically, and it’s quite intense and very raw and we’re way away from Hogwarts, and it’s a bit like three refugees being pursued across the landscape by these terrible Death Eaters,” Yates said. “We’re really enjoying it actually. It feels very different. What’s hard about coming back to Half-Blood Prince is we finished it about a year ago or less. It’s weird coming back. The first one is very verité and documentary and edgy and on the road, and the second part is a big opera basically, a great big epic with huge battles and very oddly moving, because it concludes the whole saga really. So they’re two very different films.”
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliff adds, “‘I’m so excited about the seventh film. I don’t know if anybody else had the same experience as me over the last couple of days, but seeing the sixth film again, it does suddenly strike me that we are doing something very, very different with the 7th film.”
Emma Watson agrees. “It’s not very often that in the middle of the filmmaking process, you stop yourself and go ‘This is going to be awesome’ and I’ve done that on a number of occasions,” she said. “We’ve just done this amazing scene in the forest where we’re getting chased by the Snatchers, and I’ve never done anything like it, nothing even close. I’ve never really done any serious stunts or any real action, and it’s so exciting and just really dynamic. Because all of us are now finished with school and we’re all just totally focused on this finale. It’s out of Hogwarts, it’s just about the three of us. It’s going to be… well, I hope it’s going to be brilliant and it feels totally different. I feel like I’m on a different film. The other films have this structure: You know, we come into the Great Hall and there’s the opening talk and that’s just gone, it’s gone.”
Harry Potter and the Death Hallows Pt 1 will be released November 19, 2010.
Harry Potter and the Death Hallows Pt 2 will be released July 15 ,2011.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released this week on July 15.

Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter in 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'
Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) and producer David Heyman have told Empire Magazine that the first Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie will end at a “very tense cliffhanger.”
“We’ve played around with a couple of places,” said Heyman, “and ultimately settled on a place that we think is very exciting, and I think quite bold, in that it’s not necessarily where one might expect. You want to give a sense of completion, on one hand, but a sense that there’s another piece, more to come. We tried one and then Steve (Kloves, screenwriter) came up with the idea to try it another way and when we tried that, it felt just right.”
*Spoiler below if you haven’t read the seventh Harry Potter book*
They also told the mag that just like at the end of the seventh Harry Potter book there’ll be a scene that flashes forward 19 years. Heyman is considering using Benjamin Button-like technology to computer-age the characters, however Radcliffe isn’t so sure.
“I am nervous about that,” he told Empire, “because if it’s good I’ll be really, really pleased; if it’s not good and that’s what people are left with, that would be awful. If it’s a choice between having me, Rupert and Emma looking a bit stupid and it being slightly comical or having other actors play us, I would go for other actors every time. So, we’ll see.”

Warner Bros. head of distribution Dan Fellman has announced that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will now open 2 days earlier on Wednesday July 15.
“Every day the kids are out of school in summer just like an extra Saturday,” Fellman said.
Warner Bros strategy is similar to their release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which also opened on a Wednesday. The move was said to have been made to help give Harry Potter a head-start on what is shaping up to be a competitive summer season of film releases.
