Preview: ‘Iron Man’ Mk III Battle Damaged Poseable Figure
This Thursday (September 24) Sideshow Collectibles will be open for pre-orders on a new, absolutely stunning Hot Toys Iron Man Mk III 1/6th Scale Battle Damaged Poseable Figure.
I’m posting this preview so that you can get ready because I guarantee this is one collectible that will sell out fast. I’ve also found a link to current auction on Ebay, which you’ll find at the end of this article.
Check out a gallery of awesome preview images after the jump.
Second Chance to Score an Iron Man Mark II 12-Inch Figure
“Ohhh what!” were the exclaiming words that came out of my mouth when my eyes first fell upon this awesome looking Iron Man collectible a while ago.
Now it’s available via a “second chance opportunity”, which means it was all sold out but someone lost their deposit after failing to pay the final balance. In other words, snap it up quickly or miss out.
It’s a Hot Toys manufactured 12 inch figure based upon the Iron Man Mk II figure from the Iron Man film, and “hot” really describes this collectible.
‘Iron Man 2′ in 3D, ‘Iron Man’ to be Re-Released in 3D?
Word is Paramount and Marvel are considering converting Jon Favreau’s upcoming Iron Man 2 from 2D to high quality digital-3D.
Apparently one minute of the film has already been converted and Paramount, Marvel and Disney execs are examining it to determine if they’ll proceed with a full conversion. Insiders claim the one minute is “hot”.
First Look at ‘Wolverine’ and ‘Iron Man’ Anime
It’s been almost a year since it was first reported that Marvel had struck a deal with Japanese anime giant Madhouse to adapt four of its comic series into anime for the Japanese market.
The four series are Wolverine, Iron Man, X-Men, and Blade.
On July 24 at the San Diego Comic-Con Madhouse co-founder Masao Maruyama gave fans a first look at what is being produced.
Teaser trailers to their adaptations of Wolverine and Iron Man were shown.
Reactions were mixed but as a general assessment most hated the anime version of Wolverine and most liked what they saw of Iron Man. It is perhaps fortunate that the adaptations aren’t being made for the western market.
Both teasers are now available online. You can watch them below:
Cool Collectible: ‘Iron Man’ Mark III Half-Scale Maquette
If you’re into cool collectibles or are a serious Iron Man fan then this Sideshow Collectibles and Legacy Effects Iron Man collectible will blow you away.
The Iron Man Mark III Half-Scale Maquette, based upon the armor design from the first Iron Man film, is a perfect half-scale replica at 40 inches high (you can gather its height from the apple at his feet).
It is crafted from a mixture of polystone, fiberglass, metal and other materials and, let’s face it, it looks as good as the armor did in the movie. Further, LED’s light up his eyes and his heart (via power chord or batteries) for added realism.
This is one of the best collectibles to surface in a while. It won’t be fully available until the start of 2010 but Sideshow Collectibles are taking advance pre-orders now. It may end up being a Limited Edition however the decision on that is currently TBD.
Click here to visit the product page to see more images, specs and if you’re keen, to order (US $1949.99).
