As part of their 2009 Summer Movie Preview Warner Bros. has released a couple of new photo’s from The Time Traveler’s Wife.
The Time Traveler’s Wife follows a man (Eric Bana) who has a gene that causes him to time travel when he is stressed. The story, which is based on the bestselling novel by Audrey Niffenegger, deals with the complications his affliction causes to his relationsihp as he pursues a normal life with the woman he loves (Rachel McAdams).
The film, which insiders say is excellent, beautiful, and a tear jerker, is directed by Robert Schwentke (Flightplan / Tattoo / The Family Jewels). It was also completed more than a year ago but complications surrounding the shooting of an additional scene held up the final cut. Only two new photo’s have surfaced, but we decided to include a slideshow gallery showing all of the images released from the film to date. The first two images in the list are the new ones.

The film was completed over a year ago in preparation for a 2008 release, but then it’s release date was pushed back a year without explanation.
Now it seems we have our explanation – Star Trek and growing grass were the problem.
In a roundtable discussion to promote her new film State of Play, Rachel McAdams has stated that they needed to shoot an additional scene for The Time Traveler’s Wife but because Eric Bana was forced to shave his hair for his role in Star Trek, the production had to wait for Bana’s hair to grow back.
The additional scene was to be shot in a meadow, but because of changing seasons, the shoot was forced to wait until the meadow had grown back to look like it did in previous scenes.
“We did an additional scene in the meadow so we were also waiting on the meadow to look the way it did, so we were waiting on the seasons. Basically we were waiting on nature and Eric’s hair,” McAdams laughs.
The Time Traveler’s Wife will be released August 14, 2009.

According to a report on /Film, Warner Bros. have announced that Robert Schwentke’s romantic sci-fi drama, The Time Traveler’s Wife, will be released August 14, 2009. Schwentke’s previous credits include Flightplan and Tattoo.
