<description>Ok really long winded Reply, but here goes.

While I am happy that Battlestar Galactica received 6 nominations this year it should be clearly noted that they still got SNUBBED. They easily should have received at the very least a nomination for Mary McDonnell as Best Actress. The fact that she was on the shortlist last year and they expanded to 6 noms in each category this year clearly suggest that the EMMY&#039;s are crap.

Mariska Hargitay? again, really? how trite has the role of Olivia Benson become? I love that show and her character but to suggest that year after frakkin year she is worthy of Best actress is ridiculous.

Music, you already touched on that so I will leave it as an obvious snub.

Writing. Last year they hit with Six of One &amp; prior to that with Occupation/Precipice but this year nothing, wtf? Blood on the Scales and Daybreak 2 SHOULD easily be on this list. Apparently multiple writing noms can only go to Mad Men this year. Writing is hard to award when you have so many different writers each season for each show so normally a show with multiple writing noms is because of that. But Matthew Weiner is listed on ALL of those writing noms for Mad Men and it should have been limited to ONE. Prime real estate people!

Best Drama- I mean really we need to stop using the excuse that the Emmy&#039;s don&#039;t like &quot;Sci-Fi&quot;. They have nominated MANY sci-fi genre shows in the past including: Star Trek (2), Star Trek TNG(1), Quantum Leap(3), Lost(3), The X-Files(4), Heroes(1), Beauty and the Beast(2) and if you consider a girl who talks to and sees God, then Joan of Arcadia can count!

Also the Emmys dont just snub Sci-Fi. The Wire is the best example of a show that deserved an Emmy nod every year it graced the screen but was for some still unknown reason never validated by the Emmy gods.
I feel the real problem with the Emmy&#039;s in this category is that they continually nominate the same OLD shows year after year long past their good years. This takes up valuable nomination real estate.

I would support a change in the rules that makes it so a show or actor/actress in the same role can only be nominated 2 years consecutively. Some say this would make for poor quality but I disagree. If you know you can still be nominated later after 1 year of being ineligible I think it would challenge you to maintain that excellence.

In addition you can easily make a case for Best Actor: Edward James Olmos, I mean he was excellent as the Old Man no question. I think his stature and reputation coupled with that of Ms. McDonnell totally brought this show to a higher level in all categories, writing, direction and for the rest of the, much lesser known at the time, cast to step up their game.

Best Supporting Actress: While Katee Sackhoff is the stand out overall and over most of the years with her vivid, dynamic portrayal of troubled Kara Thrace and should be considered an Emmy snub, its hard to exclude the equally outstanding performances brought by Tricia Helfer as numerous versions of Number Six and Grace Park as the many versions of Number Eight. Considering all the strong supporting female performances one can conclude they were all excluded on the basis of not wanting to choose only one.

Best Supporting Actor: Michael Hogan really was amazing as the years went on. I cannot think of a better character evolution. James Callis also was excellent as the love em or hate em Guias Baltar. His characters&#039; ability to be so intelligent and understanding while a the same time having questionable ethics and a strong desire for self preservation at all costs was nothing less than excellent.

Guest Stars: Lucy Lawless, Callum Keith Rennie, Kate Vernon &amp; Dean Stockwell could all easily be considered noms but probably not snubs. Lucy I don&#039;t believe qualifies for nomination this season. Callum was only in 4 episodes and Dean well what can be said about Dean. He is a lion.

Thanks for letting me complain about the Emmy&#039;s. Sorry so long.
