Caprica Trailer Is Out, And DVD Is Available To Be Ordered
Next month the pilot to the new Battlestar Galactica prequel series Caprica will be released on DVD (April 21). Unlike the pilot that will eventually air on Syfy, the DVD version will be an unrated extended edition (so its worth getting).
Set 50 years before the beginning of events in Battlestar Galactica, Caprica will follow the story of how humanity first created the Cylons.
At first I thought the premise of this series would have a very difficult time getting accepted, given that most prequels suffer the ‘I already know what happens’ stigma. Not only that, but it is following in the footsteps of one of the greatest sci fi series ever made, another comparison that will be hard to shake. However after watching this trailer, I’m convinced Caprica is going to stand on its own two feet and in fact shine as another brilliant sci-fi series from the Executive Producers of Battlestar Galactica.

The first season of Caprica will consist of 18 episodes and will air on SyFy in 2010.
